After a lifetime of travelling around the world due to her husband Brian’s career as a representative of the Canadian government, Laileen was ready for the pair to settle down and retire. In 2007, however, Brian was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s and Laileen soon found her life on an entirely different course, that of a caregiver. In this episode we hear about how life has changed for the couple, the journey they’ve undergone together and the importance of making every moment count while you still have time together.
