Most of us want to die at home. Where do you die when you don’t have a home or support for end-of-life care? On any given night in Canada, 35,000 people could be experiencing homelessness. Journey Home Hospice is a unique facility in Toronto that provides palliative care for those living and dying on the city’s streets. Opened three years ago, it’s one of only two in Canada that create space and palliative treatment for those without a home. It is another step in the future of deathcare, providing much needed services to those who have been falling through the cracks of palliative hospice care.
