Ashley Callingbull travels to Toronto to investigate an exciting new caregiving trend; the traditional teachings of Indigenous elders. Ashley interviews Elder Little Brown Bear at the Aboriginal Healing Centre, at Michael Garron Hospital. She also meets a veteran nurse named Tracey, who offers a unique perspective on the subject. Yet while investigating the efficacy of these caregiving teachings, Ashley discovers that she shares a dark past with Little Brown Bear.
